Indiana Institute of Technology's students developed both video and telemetry subsystems for a high power model rocket for the Florida Rocket Club. Two student teams were selected, one for capturing the launch with onboard video, and the other for designing a telemetry package.

The purpose of the video subsystem is to provide a view of the terrestrial landscape, similar to that which could be seen in the first few seconds of a manned rocket launch.

The video generated from this launch will be very useful in creating a heightened awareness of student IEEE activities, and to Indiana Institute of Technology as a whole. The IEEE student branch is a valuable extracurricular learning asset for aspiring student engineers.

The main purpose of the telemetry project is to test several aspects of real-time communication for a time critical application. These aspects include learning how to interface a computer to a micro-controller, test the reliable data communication between a pair of wireless modems in a relatively harsh environment, and real-time computation of sensor data.
