Vision, Operations and Tour

The Northeast Indiana Innovation Center (NIIC) is a non-profit corporation committed to growing the regional economy by creating new, high-quality, higher-paying jobs, by incubating and accelerating entrepreneurial companies, and by commercializing new technologies and innovations.  NIIC’s mission is: “Putting business growth, innovation and entrepreneurship to work for Northeast Indiana.”

In the incubator, NIIC nurtures biomedical, information technology and other technology businesses by developing the ventures during start-up, early development, and growth stages.  It is currently constructing a 32,000 square foot emerging growth center, scheduled to open in late 2008.

NIIC

Our host, Steve Franks, will briefly present NIIC’s vision and operations, and then will guide a tour through NIIC’s incubator facility.

Mr. Franks is manager of the NIIC Gateways program, a stage gate product development and venture acceleration program.  Before joining NIIC, Mr. Franks worked with an innovation and product development consultancy where he participated in numerous next generation product development or corporate strategy development projects.
